Small Groups

CMUMC provides several opportunities for one to explore and deepen his or her faith through community.

Tuesday Morning Study meets on Tuesdays at 10:00 a.m. in the Fellowship Hall. The group will start its Advent study on November 28. We will be studying An Unlikely Advent by Rachel Billups. The study looks at the themes of hope, love, joy, and peace by sharing the stories of Elizabeth and Zechariah, Herod, the Magi, and the shepherds. If you would like to join us, please let Pastor Emily know so that she can order a book for you by calling or texting her at 919-280-8409.

Wednesday Afternoon Study meets in person for lunch and fellowship at 12:30 p.m. and study at 1:15 p.m. on second and fourth Wednesdays this fall. The group is studying Eating Together Faithfully: A Framework for

Conversation. ETF is an ecumenical, community-based resource for congregations and communities to explore food and food systems from a Christian perspective. If you’d like to join our group for food, fellowship, and study, please contact George Mewborn at 252-286-7616.

Community Fellowship

On the first and fourth Sundays at 5:30PM in the Fellowship Hall, we will have dinner together and then breakout into our community groups for Bible Study and discussion.

Children’s Ministry

Children’s Church and Nursery Services are available every Sunday. Kids are invited to stay in worship with their families but if they would like after the Children’s moment we offer a special kid’s service to help them grow and develop in their faith.

(Children’s Church up to 2nd grade)

United women in faith

The UWF offers all Methodist women opportunities for spiritual growth, leadership development, transformative education and service and advocacy. At CMUMC we have two circles within the UMW, The Rosalie Holmes Circle and Forever Young Circle, each providing important spiritual growth and service opportunities.
